"All Munsterlander"

This is Abby, another Small Munsterlander. This is one of two litter sisters owned by Nicky, who got them for falconry and says "they're shaping up pretty well at the moment - although I don't expect brilliant falconry dogs until they are at least 3 yrs old!" Abby is standing on a bit of a downward slope here, but she is a lovely looking girl, and once again, illustrates the similarity of Large and Small Munsterlanders. Isn't she beautiful? She is, incidentally, litter sister also to Bodica, who we have featured over the last few days.

"Just like a Large Munsterlander"

Just like a Large Munsterlander, except this is Bodica, the SMALL Munsterlander again, as I said before, so alike!! from yesterday's "stretched out on the bed" to today's "in the water" the attributes, and no doubt - the downsides! - are the same! a Lovely breed, but needing time, effort and attention.

"Munsterlander Relaxation Class"

This is Bodica, the Small Munsterlander, proving that anything her "Large" counterparts do - she can do too......... This is a classic pose, as seen by many Munster owners!! and beds, humans beds, are by far the best place to relax!! Not so different are they?

"Munsterlanders chew things......."

No matter if is a Large Munsterlander or a Small Munsterlander - they can create havoc with a plastic plant pot! do not know what it is about Munsterlanders and plant pots - but they all love them - not that the plant pot is ever much use afterwards........ This is Bodica again, the Small Munsterlander proudly owned by Suzanne in the Midlands.

"Small Munsterlander again!"

I make no apologies for using another picture of a Small Munsterlander on what is essentially a Large Munsterlander webpage!! The two "versions" of the breed are both equally attractive, (some would say the "two breeds" whereas I think they are versions of the same breed!!) and have so many similar traits, and - she is SO cute, and what an expression!! This is Bodica again, belonging to Suzanne Hall in the Midlands.

"Small Small Munsterlander"

Introducing Bodica, a Small Munsterlander belonging to Suzanne from the Midlands. Isn't she cute? Mind you I bet that tassle won't last long......... she maybe a SMALL Munsterlander, but she is ALL Munsterlander............... more photos to come later this week.

"Large Munsterlanders indoors"

From "wide open spaces", to "short of space"!! After the monsters have been out - doing whatever - at the end of the day they all like to be with you - wherever you are............... That is the Large Munsterlander for you!

"Large Munsterlanders and open spaces"

Jenny commented she had particularly liked the last couple of daily dogs because of the wide open spaces............... well Rumour and Lana are seen here heading off into a vast wide open space!! We have six Large Munsterlanders but only take two or three at a time, as Tina once said, - it can look a bit intimidating to other dogs to take all together!! Imagine six munsters at full speed charging towards you on such a pathway!!

"Large Munsterlander with Scenery"

This is Sunnynook's Ruff, from Saskatchewan Canada, keeping a 'nose out' for Scaled Quail. Here Ruff hunts in the high elevation inter-mountain grasslands of extreme south eastern Arizona. Scaled quail feast on the Cholla Cactus' seed and fruit, among other things - not a bad life if you can have it! This pic, and text, was sent in by Joe Schmutz. Thanks!!

Chilli is owned and bred by Pat McCutcheon. To see more of Pat's dogs, or Chilli and her littermates, go to www.ichbinandelle.homestead.com and to the Ichbin page.

"Large Munsterlander Puppies"

Okay maybe not the best photo, just made me laugh the way they just seem to be a long line of black and white!! Mum has just left, the "milk bar" is closed, and the pups are all contented.... and stretched out, certainly a very solid litter, no wonder Mum feels the need to take a break!

"Large Munsterlander Mum"

This is Freya, the Large Munsterlander, born in Sweden herself, shown here with her puppies by her "Scottish" partner - Caber. This photo was taken earlier today, the wonders of modern technology!! All the puppies are big chunky pups, and Mum certainly seems pleased with them.

"Large Munsterlander with Self-Control"

This is Dart, posing behind a tray of home baked dog biscuits!! How on earth owner Brenda managed to get him to stay and leave.......... whilst she took the photo!! You should see our lot when we cook liver cake - no such manners around here!! This picture was used in an issue of FORUM - Friends of Rescue and Unwanted Munsterlanders - recently. I do have to say Dart is very much a "wanted Munsterlander" loved to bits by owners Brenda, Stuart and son, Benjamin. Anyone wishing to subscribe to FORUM please get in touch with Large Munsterlander Rescue.

"Large Munsterlanders and Cats"

This is Sam and Sally again, getting up close and personal with a cat, but not just any old moggy, this one looks a bit too big to chase! Notice Sally's lead seems quite tight!!!!!! I am just pleased the glass screen looks quite secure............... not sure as I would "trust" it to hold out!! or hold in as the case maybe.

"Golden Oldie Munsterlander"

This is Sam, one of the two Large Munsterlanders belonging to Alan and Marie Price. Sam will be 12 years old in March 2006, yet he still enjoys a two hour walk in the mornings, sometimes even a swim!, and then a good walk in the evening. Certainly has some stamina for a Golden Oldie.......... but that is a Munsterlander for you!!!!!!!!

"Large Munsterlander Road Test"

This is Large Munsterlander Cato, still small!, but able to inflict quite a bit of damage to her toys! Personally I think dog toy manufacturers should use Large Munsterlanders to "road test" their products - the phrase "virtually indestructible" did not take Munsterlanders into account!!

"Large Munsterlander first retrieve"

This is Cato again, looking a little more confident as she realises what opportunities the great wide World has on offer, like big sticks to fetch!! I think she is about 9 weeks old in this picture, so obviously has natural talent. She is certainly very cute!!

Saturday, February 04, 2006

"Large Munsterlander Puppy"

This Large Munsterlander puppy appears to be a little over-awed by the great outdoors!! This is Cato Von Emmelsum, or Cato as known as at home. She was imported to the Netherlands from a German kennel. This is Cato during a walk in the dunes, making sure her owner was following her.

"Large Munsterlander watching"

This is Milly, the Large Munsterlander belonging to Joyce and Mike Brown. This picture was taken quite some time ago, she is an old lady now, but was once well-known for her working ability. Bring back any memories Barbara?

From tomorrow, for a few days, we will be featuring Cato, a munsterlander in the Netherlands.

"Large Munsterlander walks the plank!"

This is quite an old photo, but an absolute classic!! I remember seeing it displayed at Crufts many years ago, when the Breed Club had a stand and a photo competition! This was Ace, or Datroy Shining Example - trying to get off the boat!!

"Large Munsterlander Aboard"

This is Danny Dog, the Large Munsterlander belonging to Claire Scott. Why swim when you can hop in a canoe? An unusual talent for a Munsterlander, but then, they do like to be included in whatever their owners do......... Whatever floats your boat as they say.
