"Munsterlander Distance Control"
Munsterlanders, be they Large or Small, always seem to want more space - no matter how large an area they are in - they always want to investigate further - or run further!! This is Rumour, Jo's Large Munsterlander bitch, out and about on a "training walk" yesterday. Miles of pathway, and forest to the left - but we just have to stop and stare and wonder what is over there to the right, beyond the fence!! and can we get to it?

"Dummy Munsterlander"
I try and show not just the dog, but the nature of the dog, Munsterlanders are outdoor dogs - (albeit with a soft centre!) - this is Bodica the Small Munsterlander belonging to Suzanne. Bodica is not actually chasing the ducks! Suzanne threw the dummy into the water, the ducks swam towards it to check it out - as Bodica went in to retrieve it!!!!!! If you look carefully you will see she is on a long line - a training exercise.

"Driving Force Munsterlander"
This is Seska, the large munsterlander bitch belonging to Linda Williamson of the Kalabagh affix. It may not be a technically brilliant photo, the dog, some would say, is not that clear, however, I think it shows the character of the dog - inasmuch as they like to be close to you, and if you get out of that front seat - given half a chance they will be on it before you get back!!

"Prepared Munsterlander"
With all the current talk of dog shows, Lex would like to point out to you all that that is no fun at all - she would rather be doing flyball!! here she is, wearing her leg protectors, her harness, and with her ball ready to go........... and go she does! Faster and keener than the collie in her group, pardon the pun, but you could say "no fly's on Lex!"

"I-spy Munsterlander"
Christine Weber's Large Munsterlander bitch, Mia, trying to creep up on the rabbit (top left hand corner of the picture!) Don't think I want to know how the story ends!! A large munsterlander is by nature a hunt, point, and retrieve breed - not sure if she is going to retrieve it - but has hunted, and is pointing (okay may not be the "classical pose" - but she knows what she is doing..........) sure, given half a chance will retrieve it too...

"Munsterlander Cautious Curiosity"
Has anyone else noticed how so oftens it is the female munsterlander who "charges in" and the male who comes along a bit more cautiously? Mia and Curtis on a woodland walk discover this huge piece of machinery, Mia is right up there, having a good sniff, Curtis seems to be hanging back until she has made sure it is safe!! Two munsters, belonging to Christine Weber.

"Munsterlander Abroad"
This is a photo from Lori, in America, on our other blog site ("Munsterlander Notes" off the www.munstermag.homestead.com site) we have been discussing "almost" photographs, the ones that did not turn out quite as we intended. This is the photo clearly a "few frames before" the one on munsternotes - in this one you can see Desi enjoying a run in the countryside - soon to disappear into the vegetation!! Emphasis on Flora, not Fauna!!

"Munsterlander Gossip-mongers"
This is Cash and Visa "at home" apparently they knew the next door neighbour was in her garden - so being typical Munsterlanders - they wanted to be first with all the news!! No doubt would have happily hopped over that bit of fence and done a bit of digging - with very little encouragement. Cash and Visa are proudly owned by Jenny, and Pete, Moore.

"Munsterlander Seal"
To me Curtis is always such an "elegant dog" but - this seems to be his impersonation of a sea lion!! I am sure he will soon dry off and be back to that Scottish Munster that I love!! He had been swimming in the Loch, but was begging his owner to throw something for him to retrieve, showing his natural aptitude in all ways!! What a Star.

"Three Amigos/Munsterlanders"
Three Munsterlanders, born, bred and living in Scotland! from Left to Right, Curtis, Mia, and Kelsey, all bred by Christine Weber. Curtis and Mia owned by Christine herself, and Kelsey owned by Nicky. Christine has bred three litters, and these are "one from each litter" spanning quite a time frame. All "caught up" with each other at a recent show. Love the way the breeze catches those featherings & ears!!!

"Topical Munsterlander"
This is Sally, "Flying the Flag" (well wearing it anyway!) for England in the World Cup. This photo was actually taken at half time during the first match of the cup! Sally is now 7 years old, & Marie and her family have had her since she was 13 weeks old, Sally was one of a litter that was given up to Rescue to rehome. Sally seems to be a staunch supporter of England, and Marie is a great supporter of our breed rescue.

"Keeping Cool Munsterlander"
This is Woody, a large Munsterlander belonging to Mark in Derbyshire. Woody is a very well travelled dog, I have photos of him in every part of the Country, from high up on the tops of the mountains, to deep down in the cooling streams..... but this is certainly a good place to be this weekend with the high temperatures forecasted.
"Never too old Munsterlander"
This is Sam, a large Munsterlander belonging to Marie Price, he lives with Sally, a "rescue" bitch. Sam is "getting on in age" now, but still enjoys daily walks. Owner Marie is a strong supporter of Large Munsterlander Rescue, and even went down to the Exemption show in Kent (although lives "further North than Lincolnshire") it was Marie that took all the lovely photos in the current issue of FORUM (anyone wanting a copy - e-mail Jean Stone or myself!)

"That Scottish Munster Again"
Sorry folks, but you do have to admit he is one of the most photogenic munsterlanders around! or perhaps his owner is just a good photographer, either way, a magnificent photo, this is - of course - Curtis, owned by Christine Weber in Scotland. BUT apparently Christine is about to have competition, another "good photographer" has just promised me a disc of her photos! watch this space.............

"Munsterlander Yobbo"
This is Otter, the Large Munsterlander male belonging to Fiona. Apparently he is approaching the teenage stage and Fiona described him today as being "a bit of a yobbo" I cannot believe that! to me he looks a sweetie - and every pic I see of him reinforces that thought!! Here he is enjoying the beach on holiday - love that fancy footwork....................

"Munster Tongue"
This is Brook, taken earlier today, less than pristine - but what does this photo, and most of the photos of Brook taken at the club show have in common?? Answer? apparently in almost every one of the pictures taken by professional photographer Brian Eastgate at the Club Show on Saturday - Brook had her tongue out - concentrating perhaps??

"Munsterlander Water Babe"
Another pic in the series from Lori, in US., this is Snowy Oaks Desi, fresh from the water..... Desi is not just a pretty face - I believe she has taken part in the American equivalent of working tests! I will agree she is very similar in appearance to our own Brook, but just a tad darker in colouring....
