"Munsterlander maniac"

This is Lexa, ever ready with her ball beside her!! As Gordon is gardening she constantly brings him the ball, barks at him, until he throws it for her, and then repeats - over and over again! Gordon just "absent mindedly" obliges!! However, even Lex gets tired on a hot day and then takes time out to lie in the shadow of the pampas grass.......... ball by her side of course!! as soon as she is ready the "game" will start again......

This is Bosch, he won Best in Show at the Large Munsterlander Club Championship show in June, unfortunately on the day my camera work was somewhat hampered by having four dogs at the show! So at Leeds I asked Sherrill to stand Bosch up so I could get a picture I was happy with - I think this fits the bill!!!

Hardly an unusual title is it? Being in water is one of the things a munsterlander does best! and this is Ben, belonging to David Bishop again - in this recent hot weather real walks are too hot - so a cooling lake or stream is always a welcome diversion!! This is Ben, the Large Munsterlander belonging to David Bishop. Ben is a "rescue boy" who once found himself in need of a good home - our breed rescue then rehomed him with Mr. Bishop, who has had experience of Munsterlanders..... seems to have been an excellent match!! Ben is keen to call attention for the need for breed rescue, after all where would he be without them? - and would like you all to look at the rescue site - you will find details of an upcoming exemption show being held on August Bank Holiday, hopefully Ben will be there himself!!

Had this by e-mail today and as was such a lovely thought decided to include it on Daily Dog... this is from Lori in the U.S., "Happy Birthday from Desi & Lori!! Sounds like you had a good start to your special day! Here's to the rest of the day going well for you! I went out and took a picture of Desi in my flower garden--consider it a long-distance bouquet with wishes for a Happy Birthday and many more to come!" As we are all struggling in a heat wave and trying to find somewhere to walk our dogs without them becoming overheated, or covered in grass seeds etc., etc, Thought I would put up the "ultimate" in dog walking areas/facilities!! These are Maria's munsters, Ester and Enga enjoying the snow in Sweden last winter........

This is Ester and Enga sat looking pretty - and Freya - enjoying a roll in the snow in Sweden. Ester and Enga belong to Maria, and Freya now lives in England with Pat.

Seems it is hot pretty much everywhere, this is Dixon, cooling down after a walk - Dixon lives with owner Mari in Finland! It is very hot there too just now, so after a trip out he settled down in the cool grass with plenty of water and a cold, wet towel - seems like a good idea to me!! must go and try it!!!!!!!!!

(what did you think I was going to say?) Spoke to Jenny earlier today and she said "put something looking cool on daily dog!" this cold enough Jenny????

This is Brook - one of our large Munsterlanders - proving that ice-creams are not just for humans! She is rather fond of ice cream - and it has become a bit of a tradition at shows at the moment - Brook has to have her ice-cream (with Rumour it was a strawberry milkshake - McDonalds of course!) seems Brook is more easily pleased.....

This is Jesse, the large Munsterlander from the Netherlands belonging to Cindy. Apparently it is 33 degrees C over there too, and everyone is looking to keeping their dogs cool... I did wonder at first why the blankets on the side - then I realised must be to stop the Jack Russell from puncturing it with his claws!

This is Jesse, the Large Munsterlander from the Netherlands, she belongs to Cindy and her partner, and once again proves that Large Munsterlanders are happy in any situation - as long as it is with you!! Jesse seems quite content in this weird position!!

This was taken yesterday at Paignton Champ. Show. It is Dylan, belonging to Sharon Miller.
Dylan usually comes along to the shows as "NFC" or "Not for Competition" thesedays, he enjoys his days out (well, he would not want to be left out!) but likes to take a nap - is this a case of "wake me up when it is all over"?? A lovely boy and a show would not be a show without Dyl!!

It could only be Mia, couldn't it? If any dog was to be found in a ditch getting dirty, it would have to be her! She might carry her Show title for beauty & conformation but you'd never think that when she's seen wallowing full stretch in a puddle!

So here is Dodge, one from a trio of Rhodesian Ridgeback's belonging to my friend Alison. Something has obviously caught his eye (He has remarkably good taste!) but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what!

Yup, Munsterlanders are the same the World over! willing to fetch and carry whatever your need!! This is Enga (I think!) in Sweden (of that I am sure!) belonging to Maria Forss. Not sure if Enga thinks it is the human in the bed - or the cat on the bed - that needs the toilet roll - but either way she is ready to take on the Andrex puppy....................... isn't she cute?

Bet you all looked at the title and thought, "oh no another pic of Rumour!" very, very similar! but this is Desi - in the U.S., just goes to prove that munsters are alike the world over, and with an overwhelming love of hunting, and just generally loving life!! More from Lori soon, who said she hoped we had had some good comments on her story on Munstermag - well - we have!! it was very popular - hopefully more to follow..... including a lovely story about a duck - and Desi!

This was Rumour last week - wonder if she is bringing the dummy back today at her first working test - or if she is "playing up"...... They say a good training session in advance can mean not so good on the day and vice versa - wonder if that is the case today?

This is Rumour, bringing back the dummy (hopefully to hand!) she swam out quite a way yesterday to retrieve it - and seems quite happy with her "prize". Rumour has not always been a working girl - she was a show girl up until last year, and gained her Show Champion title! but is taking time out to learn a different discipline.

This is Rumour, earlier today, retrieving the dummy from the lake! She is in training for the Winter! Most of her training has been done in "smaller expanses" of water - and today was all about seeing "how far she would go!" I think she passed the test!!!!! You may recognise the scenery? it was "featured" earlier in the week with rescue dog Meg and "friend" Flo. Rumour went to "borrow" their water!!

Large Munsterlander Willow is worn out with all that "counting sheep" business yesterday so is just having a quick nap on Dad's lap!! She looks totally relaxed and comfortable, could be said she "is in the lap of luxury!"...........

This is Ben, the rescue Munsterlander belonging to David Bishop. Mr. Bishop has had munsters in the past, and took on Ben a couple of years back. They seem to have developed a wonderful bond. These are two of the three munsterlanders belonging to the Freeman family. Meg and Flo are pictured swimming in one of the many lakes on the property. Lotty and Andrew Freeman have had munsterlanders for many years, and are stauch supporters of Large Munsterlander Rescue.
