"Netherlands Munster"

This is Jesse, belonging to Cindy in the Netherlands. Cindy took this photo last week with a new camera and is trying it out for quality! looks good to me!! for those of you interested in such things I believe it is a Canon EOS 350D.......... Personally I am just happy with a photo with a munster in it!!!!!!!!!!!

This is Lex again, another photo kindly sent in by Kerry! Do not think Lexa's "finish" impressed the judge - but it certainly amused her!! Lex got a bit "over-excited" to say the least!! Good job this is not a video clip, with sound! because you could certainly hear Lex across the showground!

Thank you to Kerry, who attended yesterday's exemption show - and sent me this photo 0f our Lex - doing what she likes best! - bringing a ball back to Jo!! Lex may not have won the prettiest bitch (or even come close!!) but she did make several people laugh during her obedience bit! and she certainly fetched the ball with great enthusiasm and speed!! Something of a "flying finish" I believe!!

This is Otter the Large Munsterlander with Bodica the Small Munsterlander. At an exemption show held today at Tetney, near Grimsby, Bodica won the prettiest bitch class - easy to see why - and apparently Otter found her very attractive too.....

If you look closely at the top right hand side of the picture you can see the dummy has just been thrown, and Desi, owned by Lori in the U.S., is just about to go for it - or is she? not quite sure if about to "put the brake on" in this picture - or launch herself..............

This photo is from Lori, a picture of Desi by the lake, Lori says " The area by the lake is celebrating the 200 year anniversary of Lewis & Clark exploring the area of America where I live so there are some tents and things and boat replicas. Amazing to think that only 200 years ago this area of the world was a big unexplored territory!" I agree Lori - amazing - and how awful - to imagine an area without munsterlanders either!!!

This is Archie, the large Munsterlander belonging to Clare and Trevor Mossop and family! It was Archies fourth birthday recently (as Clare said "doesn't time fly?") and here he is unwrapping his present!! Wonder if he was like the average child - more interested in the wrapper than the pressie? Happy Birthday Archie!!

Sky, Jasper and Otter are looking very interested in Fenella - but I think she may be concealing a biscuit about her (little) person!! A Large Munsterlander can always spot an opportunity - and a small child with a biscuit is a big temptation - they always drop crumbs - don't they? well we can all look appealing and hope!!

This is Otter again, the large Munsterlander male belonging to Fiona and family! Fiona did describe him last night as the "smallest and grubbiest" of the three dogs pictured - perhaps he took her comments to heart and decided to clean himself up? - but then - being a munster - he is probably just doing this - because he enjoys it!! either way he is happy - and much loved!!

This is a photo of Jasper and Sky with Otter. Otter is the much loved Munsterlander belonging to Fiona, husband Mark and daughter Fenella, however - Fiona describes him as "the smallest, grubbiest one of the three!" Jasper being the tall boy, and Sky being the young lady of the group. Jasper and Sky belong to Alex...... and whilst Alex had a night away recently Fiona had the dogs for a "sleep-over!" somehow I cannot think that was very restful ............... but they all seem to be good friends - the dogs and their humans!!!

Bosch (well hope is Bosch, and not Boris! - apologies if mixed them up!!) on his recent holiday with owners Dave and Sherrill. All Munsters seem to like a good swim and he is no exception!! however, some are happy to wallow in a muddy puddle - he seems to prefer deep water!! is this the new Loch Ness Monster/Munster?

After a wet and windy trip to the res., there is nothing Brook likes more than to settle down on the bed with a nice fluffy blanket - not a "dog" blanket, or a dog bed, for her - Jo's bed is the best place to be..... with the stereo on in the background, and all mod cons provided! It's a dogs life!!! Hope the colour scheme does not give her nightmares.......

Jo took some good pics today - and this one!! - it just made me laugh!! the idea was obviously a sit and stay photo-call................ Brook (the one in the middle) was obviously just about to break ranks and make a run for it - Lana (the one on the right) was leaning away - thinking Brook was about to crash into her, and Rumour (the one on the left) is giving such a "sideways look" as though to say "you better hurry up - cos we are off!!" What a disorganised lot!!

This is Jesse again, taking a rest whilst on her holiday in France.... why lie on the floor when can have a nice comfy cushioned bench to rest on? she looks very relaxed - and photogenic too, a relaxing holiday with your owners - what more could a munsterlander want?

Cindy and her partner took all their dogs on holiday to France.... here we have Jesse, the munsterlander, a young cross breed dog that Cindy "Rescued" and her two Golden Retrievers, quite a family outing!! all trotting along quite happily through the paths of the forest.....

On Munsterlander notes we have been discussing what is (or isn't!) immediately recognisable as a Munsterlander! Well, this is Rumour, our Show Champion! (well, she was!!!!) I think she is very much a munsterlander - in character and in looks (?) what do you think!! Prime example or not - she is happy!

This is a lovely photo sent to me today by Lesley, she has called it “Quick Rest.” This is Bess and Polly having a quick rest, during their holiday in The Lakes, they were exploring EVERY inch of Whinlatter Forest. Katie will be doing a "bit" about Lesley and her dogs on munstermag later this month. Lesley had quite an interesting story about how she came to have TWO munsters!!

"Munster and Setter"

This is Tyme, the Munster puppy, and Sona the Gordon Setter puppy, both belonging to Pat McCutcheon, and both clearly enjoying a day without a dog show! Both dogs attended National Gundog show yesterday, and both dogs, along with Brook our munster, came home courtesy of the AA!

Muckier than a Munsterlander?

Mia's wallowing seems to be having a bad influence on Tinkerbell ! Or it's a competition to see who can get the most dirty or smelly before they get into my car? So much for the myth that Toy Dogs just want to be pampurred!

Heard from Lori yesterday, she says "Still too hot here--only way to exercise dogs is to take them swimming so we took the camera along last night" . Many of the pictures are dark but still lovely to see. We heard from another lady in the US yesterday, and we hope to feature her on Munstermag next week... I love to see and hear from Munsters abroad......

This is Mia, one of the large Munsterlanders owned and bred by Christine Weber in Scotland. Mia is very keen on water!! Christine sent me a video clip today - of Mia and a rhodesian ridgeback - Mia was in water - and the other dog just could not seem to "accept" the idea! hopefully Christine will try and post the video to the blog later - perhaps even add to this blog?
