This is another old photo, once used in a Large Munsterlander Rescue Calendar, it shows Senta - the Large Munsterlander, and Millie the (small) Dachshund - both owned by Gerlind Lilley and family. Poor Senta looks quite jealous that the small dog has the bone - but does not seem to know what to do about it!!! an oldie - but worth using again!!!

"Munsterlander Blockade"
This is a very old picture, Rumour at a very young age! she used to "hang around" with Zeb (her ever patient "sire") As I say - this is a very old picture and this door opened directly into the "dog garden" so was constantly muddy and dirty - as you can see!! It has changed somewhat now - this opens into a paved and covered area - so been able to clean it up a bit!!! but they look so cute decided to use it - muddy background an' all!!

"Frozen Whiskers"
Thought you might enjoy this one... Danny says: "If you think white surfaces and ice are too cold... look what happened to me last winter! Mum took me to the top of a Munro (Schiehallion) in white out conditions and my whiskers froze! How is a Munster supposed to retain dignity in this kind of trying situation?"
In his owners defense - She did take him to his favourite thawing out & watering hole (featured in an earlier daily blog) immediately after descent! :o)

"Munsterlander boy with his toy"
This is Dan - Claire managed to catch him unawares, still asleep in his bed - cuddled up with his favourite toy!! Very comfortable he looks too!! Dan, of course is our HPR dog of a few days back!! He still seems to be working on the "Hanging around and Relaxing bit" sadly think that is a Duck and not a Pheasant - but close enough!!!

"Two speeds for the average Munsterlander"
They never do anything by halves!! either coming at you full speed, or lying looking lovingly at you!! a breed with a love of life - and their owners! This is Liebe - in all her glory!! Liebe is a lucky dog - so spare a thought to those in Rescue - and ask around to find new homes - surely everyone would love to have a munster??

"A Munsterlander is an H.P.R. Breed"
This is the lovely Danny - in the pub over the Christmas and New Year period (well - not ALL of it I hope!!!) however, owner Claire has finally explained to me the real meaning of an H.P.R., breed............. a meaning I can finally identify with..........." We think that Munsters being HPR dogs actually stands for Hang-out (in the) Pub & Relax... we are very proud of how well trained Dan has become at this HPR lark!" After a day like we had yesterday - that has really cheered me up - thanks Claire..... a munster is happy with you - no matter where you are - as long as he is too.....

"Munsterlander Connor"
This is Connor, belonging to Rosie Penna. Rosie sent me this picture saying "Thought that you might like this pic of Connor - he knew we had visitors for tea when he arrived at the back door after digging for rabbits!" perhaps he was looking for a nice tasty treat for their tea?? But - he looks so sweet!!!

"Snow Munsterlander"
Have to admit to a bit of a "cheat" here - although Linda Williamson tells us that there is now snow up in North East Scotland (and this is indeed a photo taken by Linda in North East Scotland) however, this was taken last year!! Whether they get as much snow as this - or more - we will have to wait and see - but - by the look of things - her dogs will enjoy it anyway!! "Come on Mum" - seems to be the opinion!!!

"Munsterlander looking at you!"
This is Desi, Winter and snow have struck South Dakota - and Desi seems quite impressed by it - there is also a small video of her on www.munsternotes.homestead.com on the munsternotes bit. Also a few pics from Patti of the effect of the ice storms in Upstate New York (is that the right phrase?) I think it is so nice to see and hear about Munsters, and their owners, from around the World.

"Munsterlander Look-out"
Should that be Munsterlander look-out - or look out there is a Large Munsterlander? This is Theo, belonging to John Thorn, who says "At our place in the Wye Valley, we built a platform for the best view of Goodrich Castle. Seems we're not the only ones who like it..." well - why not! it seems a great idea!!

"Munsterlander dummy"
Rumour, out yesterday in our new "borrowed" field, about a mile and a half from our house. The farmer has not got any cattle at the moment - so this is one of the few grass fields in the area - and it is available for our use!! and yes it is a dummy Rumour is carrying - but it is one of the big "hare" weight ones (if that is the correct expression?) and it has a rabbit skin tied on it.

Munsterlander in Training
This is Ozzie the munsterlander belonging to the Mossop family........... doing a bit of gundog training. The season for Field Trials etc., is almost at an end for this year - but there will be gundog working tests and the like for all the "working" people! Meanwhile the "show" champ. season is about to start up again for the breed. A dual purpose breed!

"Munsterlander with a bigger pet!"
This is a photo Christine Weber sent me (Thank You!) of Bianka (the munsterlander!) not sure as the horse is impressed with the idea of the dog being in charge - but the dog is holding the reins!! I am sure Christine (if asked nicely!!) will tell us all more about the photo on the munsternotes blog - I just wanted to use it - because I like it!!! over to you Christine....................

"Munsterlander and pet!"
I have had this photo quite a while - but it always makes me smile!! It is Beamer - belonging to Dianne Davies (who designs some of the more colourful christmas cards for L M. Rescue) - and Brian - the rabbit!! Don't try this at home folks - unless you are very sure of your munster and he/she has been brought up with such other pets!!!!!

"Munsterlander out hunting"
These two pics are from Lori in the US., could not make my mind up which of the two to use - so used both!! love them both - for different reasons - love the wide open spaces, and the trees and buildings on the horizon of the first, and dog and handler clearly enjoying themselves - but admit not very clear of the dog - and I like Desi!! so had to go for this one too!! What do I like so much about both of them? whatever you like to do - from hunting to reading a book - do it with your dog!!!!!

Outside today is a touch frosty, a touch cold and grey - so wanted a nice sunny photo to brighten up the day! and came across this - Otter, belonging to Fiona and family, on his summer holiday! Blue sea and blue sky - and a lovely black and white dog - what more could you want - except perhaps - several more munsterlanders!!! or at least one more?? next summer we may be seeing Demo on holiday too.............

"Munsterlander Annie"
Pleased to show a pic or two of Munsterlander "Annie" - or Jaudas Corrianne - owned and bred by Lynn O'Connell. Why am I so pleased to show these photos? Annie appeared in our diary this year - and she looked so grumpy!! nice to see her "fun side".......... and she certainly seems to be having a bit of fun with that stick!!

"All Weather Munsterlanders"
No matter what the weather - or the conditions underfoot! - a munster can move........ Many years ago we bought a puppy and the breeder supplied us with, what is now a common thing, a "puppy pack" and in the sheets of instructions it said "Munsterlanders have only two speeds - flat out or clapped out" so very true!!! This photo is from Maria in Sweden.
